The house is getting inspected today at 5. Cliff and Pastor Howie are going to meet with the inspector and walk through the house together. I CANNOT WAIT TO MOVE!
But more than that...I CANNOT WAIT TO SEE MY FAMILY AND MY THREE NEICES! Ah...Thursday night cannot come fast enough. We plan to leave here at five and be in Arlington by like 10 or so. Then we get to spend a glorious Friday with family and only part of Saturday. I'll take anything I can get.
Mimi and Bipaw are going to be staying at Mom and Dad's Thursday and Friday night too, so that's awesome. Bipaw is speaking at his 50th anniversary at HPU and at a Cornerstone Baptist Church reunion. HPU is having their homecoming this weekend. Cliff and I opted out to go see the girls. I wish I could be there, but need to see my family more. Maybe one of these years we'll get to go back there for a weekend. I sure miss all of my HPU friends!
Somehow October filled up fast and I'm sure it will be over before we know it. Another thing I cannot wait for...WE GET TO GO TO NEW BRUANFELS!! We get to go take an extra long weekend with Cliff and Debbie and Kimberly and the rest of the family. :) It'll be a blast.
Then after that...WE MOVE! Woohoo! Exciting stuff, and after typing all of this it's a bit overwhelming. Ok...that's enough.

Kenya Video-Finally!
Trish I'm trying to do one uploaded through the icon in the 'new post' tool bar, but also one from youtube...we'll see how it works. Trish it is really easy to add video from Youtube. You need to set up an account there, then upload the video, then copy and paste the html stuff, then under the blog new post, click on the edit html tab next to compose and then paste it right in there!! Try that and see if it works. :) The second video on here was from youtube.

THEY ACCEPTED OUR BID!!!
Huge news....the people accepted our bid! We have a house...the moving date looks like it is going to be October 27th. :) One month and we'll be in a house! Cliff and I are so thankful because God was definitely taking care of us. The realtor said he's shocked that they accepted the offer. :) Awesome! We'll go sign that we agree to the terms and see what happens. WOOHOO!
Hair
The cut went well. Jacinda was sweet. I'll post pictures later. It seems we have had NO time at home. And tonight will be no different....hanging out with kids while the parents do a marriage seminar. Fun stuff.
Until next time...
Until next time...

Another post
So I know...I am pretty lame. Another post, but you know...there are some hours in my day that are really boring. And I have been concentrating on Social Research homework for a long time and I need a break. Plus, it is the last hour of the day and generally that is longest, most torturous hour for a receptionist! :)
Anyway, so I've been thinking about something with regard to moving and having lived in Amarillo for a year. Many of the normal things in life become uncomfortable and just not fun, but they are essential must dos. One I had to do out of necessity in the spring and that is finding a gyno! Well, so I had asked around trying to find a good one that people like. Well, everyone I met gave me two names. One wasn't taking new patients and the other I couldn't remember the day that I was sitting down to make an appointment. So, I pull out the trusty yellow pages and go search for a doc. Many of you have heard the story, but I ended up going to this doc who has her practice out of her home which is this giant stucco house on a hill next to pastures outside of town. It is really a pretty cool place. I could see her 13 year old son's room from the hallway. The nurses were nice and the doc nice too. After driving out and calling twice I ended up going in after I had had thoughts of maybe I shouldn't do this! It turned out fine and I'll probably go back next year, that is if Cliff will let me. He nearly came unglued after I told him the story of getting there...ha! She has a rep for being really earthy, but that might be nice. Not sure what exactly people mean by "earthy." :)
Well, so today marks another one of those hated necessities about moving. You know, those things that you have to find or do like finding a doctor or hairstylist. I am getting my hair chopped off. For the past year I've been going to pro cuts somewhat regularly for trims and my hair is now to the middle of my back. I found out Cliff likes it shorter so I am doing something that will please him hopefully, and me...I kinda need a change.
Once again, against my better judgement, I have turned to the Yellow Pages. I can get in tonight so I'm going. Could be a total disaster, but maybe not. I'll keep you posted.
Here is a lsit of other hated moving chores: the basic water, electricity, phones, internet, family doctor (haven't done that yet), dentist (2 hour intitial consult/cleaning!), pharmacy, eye doctor (found a pretty good one), grocery store...not sure what else. Even after living a year I haven't gotten through the list. You have to space out uncomfortable encounters!
Anyway, those are my ramblings of the afternoon. Fun times tonight at 7 with Jacinda...hope she is good! :)
PS no word on the house yet!

The process has begun...
We signed papers to place a bid on the house this morning before work. Woohoo!!!!!!!!!! I cannot wait for all of this waiting to be over. Lord willing within a month we'll be moving. :) Thanks for the prayers.

The house
So, I went to look at the house at 5 and we decided to move forward. Cliff is checking on stuff today and then hopefully in the next couple of days we'll make an offer. I don't have any pictures, but if you google Coldwell Banker Amarillo, TX
If you want to proceed follow these directions:
It will give you the option of Coldwell Banker First Equity Realtors.
Click on that, then choose Residential Properties (It is to the left towards the top).
Choose Amarillo MLS Listing
The Heading will say Public Search. Then in the street name box enter Kingston
A list of homes on Kingston will come up. Choose 4408 Kingston Rd.
That's the house. :)
Just keep praying and we'll see what happens!

This just in...
We may have found a house. Please pray. Cliff and I are going back to see it in about 10 minutes at 5 when I get off of work. We already looked at it once weeks ago. It has dropped significantly in price and may be a winner. WooHoo!

Monday
Goodmorning all! Cliff and I had a super busy weekend.
First, we left Friday right after I got off of work to head to Plainview where Cliff led a Sunday School training for three of the Baptist Associations in the surrounding areas. This was his first experience speaking outside of our own church member trainings so he was a bit nervous before it began. He did an AWESOME job. I am so proud of him. I went along to help with technical stuff and for moral support. He has three sessions, teaching, reaching and sunday school 101. We had some good discussions with the 8 that were there. They were all from very small churches and had some interesting issues to deal with. Thankfully, God has given Cliff experiences in a very small church and in a larger church so he could relate. I wanted to take video of him doing it, but Cliff nixed the idea. Maybe next time.
Saturday we had lunch at a great Mexican food place in Plainview then headed back to Amarillo. Cliff and I stopped in Canyon to visit with Kalie for a little bit since she was in town to see family. It was soo great to see her and Lorin and the rest of the Lowrie clan. :) By this time is was about 4:30 and we had plans to go to the big Tri-State Fair and Rodeo.
Cliff and I drove home, changed clothes real quick and went out to the Fair. We enjoyed roasted corn, a turkey leg and lemonade. We watched the rodeo and then shared a funnel cake. It was tons of fun! We also got to ride one ride together and lost twice playing the ring toss.
Sunday we had church which was great. I went grocery shopping right after and then fixed sandwiches. I also finished grading papers and discovered my professor gave us an extra week for our assignment which I was pumped about. I got to take a nap!! Woohoo!
Finally, we wrapped up the weekend with church, then dinner and football at Hannah and Joe's place. So fun...
Time for another busy week!

Thursday
Well, it's Thursday and it has been a good day so far. Cliff and I walked to Subway downtown for lunch and had a great hour together. It is almost 2:30 so there is only a little bit of the afternoon left. The afternoons always creep by around here. About 3:30 the place just becomes dead.
This week has been busy. Every evening I have things to do. Monday night class till 9, Tuesday a Bible study called Apples of Gold from 6-8:30, then Wednesday is church until close to 9. So Thursdays are a welcome relief! Thursdays and Fridays I work on homework at work and in the evenings we do different things. I am cooking sausage and baked french fries tonight...real healthy I know, but I really need to go to the grocery store and I'm not doing it tonight. :)
We may be going to the fair with a family from church tonight. I haven't heard from them yet so we'll see what happens. Tomorrow we leave at 5, right after work, to head to Plainview where Cliff is teaching at a conference on Saturday morning.
Busy week, but it has been pretty good. Still looking for a house! I can't wait to say, "We found a house and we're moving in this weekend..." Maybe in a few more weeks.
Love to all...we miss you friends and family! Especially our sweet neices...Leigh and Trish please show them our pictures everyday so they will know who we are!

Waiting
Still no house...we thought we had a winner, but it turns out its not. Back to square one. As you can tell, I'm discouraged, getting impatient, but Cliff is trying to remain positive. I guess we'll continue as usual. We want a house!!!
In other news...Cliff is leading a Sunday School conference on Saturday in Plainview. We'll head out Friday night and stay in a hotel there. Then Saturday we are planning on going to the TriState Fair and maybe the rodeo. And possibly dinner with Hannah and Joe...busy weekend ahead.
Nothing else for now. I get to hug on my neices in about 3 weeks...I CANNOT WAIT! They have grown too much since the last time I saw them. :(

freedocumentaries.com
Check out free documentaries.com.
I watched Invisible Children and I highly recommend it. It is hard to believe how many are suffering around this world!
I keep up a site called Real Hope for Haiti (you can check it out on my blog roll to the left). The last two hurricanes have hit them hard. Everyday they face life and death situations. Even this week they had a child die from malnutrition. I wish there was more I could do from Amarillo, TX, but I'm not always sure what to do with the knowledge of real suffering around the world.
I want to go, but I have responsibilities here. All I know is that I can pray, number one, and then give when I am able. Please pray with me for Licia and Lori and their families as they serve the people of Haiti and as they get through the devastation of the hurricanes.

House Hunting
Our world revolves around house hunting right now. We went to twelve last week, six yesterday, two today. And still...no house. Please pray for God to show us what we are supposed to do. I don't have much other news about our life. I am busy with school and grading for two sections of a class, and manning my station from 8:30-5:00.
Cliff has been really busy with church now that school has started back up. I think today is day 10 that we have spent at least half if not all day at the church. We need a break. Cliff is super excited about going hunting this weekend, Thursday through Saturday. I however, will be staying in Amarillo because I have to work on Friday. Mom and Dad are coming to visit and I am so excited to get to spend time with family.
I have to say how thankful I am that God sent Hannah and Joe to live in Amarillo. We had them and Bethany and her two year old over for dinner Saturday night and it was so great. I cooked spagetti with salad and we just enjoyed hanging out. Chloe, Bethany's little girl, was ADORABLE. She absolutely loved Cliff and was such a talker.
