Forever Friday

Fridays never end around here!! Two more hours and I get to leave the confines of this office!

Tonight we are going to hang out with some friends at the ballpark here to watch the Dillas play. They are the Amarillo minor league team. It's free to the public tonight so we'll go take advantage and hang out with some fun people.

Tomorrow I get my hair cut. It has been a very long time since I have had it cut! I don't know why I put it off all summer. I am really looking forward to that it!

Then tomorrow afternoon Cliff has a reunion for his Africa team that we'll be going to. Probably sitting around eating and talking. Nothing major. I am hoping for a quiet evening at home after. I really need to do some grocery shopping!! Cliff is probably ready for some real meals around our house, not the throw-together kind. We'll see how that goes. :)

I hope the weekend stretches on and on and on. Not likely, but a girl can wish!

Pray for Leigh when you think about her. Aly is acting like she is ready to come in to this world, but we aren't!! Pray she stays put for at least three more weeks. Leigh is feeling fine, just having some pre-term labor stuff. The poor girl has to try to stay off of her feet with a husband and two girls to take care of!

Busy in Arlington

I went to Arlington this weekend. It was a busy, busy weekend that went by too fast, but was filled with lots of family and fun. Saturday was spent relaxing with Mom, Dad, Mimi, Bipaw and the Aquino girls. Lerin and I got in lots of good play time. We even went on a walk around our neighborhood. We sang songs and enjoyed listening to the girls chatter. Dad is doing awesome recovering from his hip surgery. He went on the walk with us and is just doing marvelously! He gets stiff in the evenings, but overall he is getting back to his old self...before the years of pain.

Saturday afternoon the family went with Aaron and Trish's Sunday school class to this restaurant called Babe's in Burleson. Babe's serves family style food like chicken fried steak, fried chicken, etc. It was actually very yummy! I was a little skeptical of the family style of serving, but they did not disappoint.

Sunday was a very very special day! I got to go to Tate Springs for Sunday School and see all of my church family that I miss terribly! Of course, we were only there for Sunday School and it was very quick talking with everyone, but good none the less. Then we all went over to hear Bipaw preach at Walnut Ridge. What an awesome heritage I have the privelege of being born in to. Walnut Ridge was one of the mission churches started by Tate Springs in 1982. They were having a send out service for their third mission church and had invited Bipaw to preach. The contemporary worship was refreshing and watching God fulfill his promises and continue his work among his people was awesome to watch! I can't wait for heaven to see the host of people who have come to know Jesus because my Bipaw was obedient to his calling. We have a high calling to live up to!

After a delicious family lunch at Pancho's I got to rest for about an hour before leaving to go back home. I got to be the welcoming committee for the Callender family bringing Gus home!! While they ate lunch I ate up some Gus time. What a prescious baby! He is doing fabulously and we are all thrilled that he is home.

Sadly, I forgot my camera in Amarillo so there were no photos to document the weekend. Mimi took care of that though snapping shots all weekend! I'll have to get them from her.

What a Weekend!

This sweet baby turned two on Saturday! Robbyn has grown into such a prescious, talkative little girl! I absolutely hated missing out on her birthday and was told many of our family members were able to come and be a part. I am so thankful that there were so many there to celebrate with her. It is hard to believe that she is not a baby anymore!

In the picture below Robbyn is the one on the far right. She is swimming like a fish and is such a great sister to Lerin. Poor Robbyn will have to give up her place as the baby of the family when Aly arrives in October. She'll be a great big sister!

Cliff also had a big birthday this weekend! He turned 25 on Sunday! We celebrated with a quiet lunch after church and then we cleaned the house! Ha! Cliff mowed the yard and I cleaned inside. We were preparing to have the staff over to our house for desert after Sunday night church. It was alot of fun to have our Amarillo friends filling up our house with laughter and talk! Cliff got a basketball goal to put outside. It'll need some assembly, but he is looking forward to shooting some hoops!
I am so proud of Cliff. We were talking this weekend about how much God has blessed us at our age! As much as I HATE being soooo far from family, I recognize that creating a life together is God's plan and design. It is not easy, but my sweet husband has done a great job leading us!
And today....we are anxiously awaiting Gus' arrival. Aunt Lynne posted on her blog
that Dom is already having contractions three minutes apart and has had her epidural! It sounds like he'll be here soon! Again....why am I sitting in Amarillo and not in Dallas waiting with Phoebe in the waiting room!!! Please pray for Gus to be healthy!

The Eagle Has Landed!

Cliff and the rest of the Kenya crew arrived in Amarillo last night around 7. It sounds like they had quite the harried travel experience. The plane from London left late which meant they arrived in Dallas late. Thankfully, the plane from Dallas to Amarillo was having some trouble so it was delayed about half an hour. After worrying through customs and sprinting to their next flight they were able to make the flight and arrive home only thirty minutes late. Their luggage did not make the flight but was sent on the last flight to Amarillo.

Cliff was really tired and in that dazed state after more than 30 hours of travel and being awake. We grabbed some Mexican food and then went home. Cliff showered and pretty much fell asleep. I went back up to the airport at 10 to retrieve his baggage. I'm pretty sure Cliff slept through the night. He was still sleeping when I left this morning! I'm so glad he is getting to rest up, hopefully jet lag won't be such a beast this time. Time will tell. :) I didn't want to get out of bed this morning either, not necessarily because I was tired, but because I was sooo glad to have Cliff home! Life is good today. :)

Home

I am so ready for Cliff to be home. He should be starting the trip home by now and will be landing in Amarillo around 6:30 tomorrow night. I have to say, there's not much for me here without him. I've been pretty bored since Mom left and it has only been like 3 days since she left. I've definitely watched way too much mindless TV over the last several days and gotten plenty of sleep! I'm pretty restless to have him home.

I have not been afraid at home alone. I am thankful for my relationship with God because I can always talk to him and know that he hears. What would I do without him!! God is my friend always and forever, there when no one else is. :)

Today should go by quickly with work and then school right after until 9:30. I'll be counting down the hours until tomorrow night! Cliff called Saturday morning, but I missed the call because I was in the other room. Talk about disappointed!!! He left a message, but I figure I won't hear from him again until he is back in the states tomorrow.
